Grand Teton National Park, WY

Colter Bay campsite area is pretty fancy. There is a huge grocery store, warm shower, WIFI connection and a 24 hours laundry self-service.

First day, we did the Hermitage Point 12-mile loop that took us through forest into a wide open vista point of Grand Tetons range.

GT7

Showering, doing laundry and WIFI were in order for the evening. After all, we didn’t only shower for 3-days by the time we got to Grand Tetons.

Next day morning, we decided to take it easy again and drove around the park to the most part. Just driving through the park and stopping at every overlook and viewpoints to take in the beauty of the Grand Tetons was as awe-inspiring as it can ever get.

It is one of those parks that I would want to come back to for backcountry camping and overnight hiking.

GT3

Sunset over the mountain range is worth waiting for among the mosquitoes.

GT8

There is plenty of beach access to Johnson lake around the park. The water was warm enough to get in. How often do you get to swim with the view of amazing mountain drop in the background.

GT6

Next day early morning we went to Jenny lake visitor center to do the Inspiration Point hike. The parking lot in the Jenny Lake visitor center area gets really crowded as the hikes here are very popular. So, go early if you can. Also, this area is where the rock climbing school is. Rock climbing in Grand Tetons is supposed to be one of the best experiences.

We made a mental note to come back for it another time.

GT5

This park is certainly one of the highlights of the trip. Will have to come back and hike to Lake Solitude and do rock climbing next time.
